The next two weeks we are on break so there are no story times until the week of March 17th.  In the meantime, I've come up with a list of great websites that encourage early literacy for preschoolers.  Have fun checking them out together!

1. starfall.com  This free site has a wonderful variety of seasonal activities for kids to do.  If you're willing, you can also pay for a membership to have more access to the site as well as remembering your child's profile and what they have done.

2. www.pbskids.org  Visit all your favorite characters on PBS here such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Dinosaur Train, The Cat in the Hat and many more!  The site includes clips of the shows and many games that are literacy, art, math and science based.  Little extras such as printables for you to use are a nice touch as well.

3. www.funbrainjr.com  This site helps develop more math, problem solving and literacy skills for your little one. It also offers printables for parents to use offline.

4. www.nickjr.com  Nick Jr. offers fun for preschoolers with Dora, the Bubble Guppies, Max and Ruby and other Nick Jr. characters. There are games, crafts and other furn things to do with the different characters.  The site also offers a great parent section called "family life" that has tips on milestone development, kids health and more.

5. http://www.fisher-price.com/en_US/GamesandActivities/OnlineGames/index.htmlb  Fischer Price has a quality website that offers early literacy games such as ABC recognition, colors, shapes, and 1,23's. They also offer craft ideas, online videos of their little people toys, and coloring pages to print.
