Summer Exhibit At Your Local Library

Are you ready to explore outer space?  Hop on board your rocket ship, fasten your seat belt and start the count down:

Ten...Nine...Eight...Seven...Six...Five...Four...Three...Two...One...Blast Off!

If you haven't been to the library lately, come as a family and visit our free Discover Space exhibit! Learn about the search for planets beyond our Solar System, asteroids and comets, Mars exploration and more.  Children will be excited to see the NASA items on display, including an actual moon rock, a space shuttle tire, an astronaut suit, rocket replicas, space shuttle model and more.  There are many hands-on activities and photo opportunities throughout the library.  In the Early Learning Center the new space-themed dramatic play area is proving to be very popular!

For a fun musical introduction to all things space-themed for your preschooler, click on the music video below and watch Laurie Berkner perform Rocketship Run!  Gail Borden Public Library is a great resource for books, CD's, puzzles, and DVD's on this theme. We'll be happy to help you find them if you stop by the Help Desk.  See you soon!
