Holiday Learning Is Fun!

During the holiday season consider including some simple activities that will strengthen the skills your preschooler needs for reading and learning success.

  • Listen to audio books while traveling to visit family and friends.
  • Listen to holiday music, and sing along, while wrapping presents.
  • Revisit memories and tell stories about holidays and family traditions.
  • Read recipes together as you plan holiday meals.  Write a shopping list and find items at the grocery store by reading signs and labels.
  • Ask your child to write place cards for the table.
  • Enjoy reading books together - old family favorites, stories about winter or holiday celebrations all over the world.
  • Work on printing skills by writing a letter to Santa or a faraway relative, or a thank you note for a gift.  If you haven't stopped in the Early Learning Center lately, we have a special table set up for your preschooler to write his own letter to Santa!

Registration for our winter storytime session began on December 14. If you'd like to join us in January, please visit our Explore Events tab for more information.
