Fall I - Week 6

Welcome to the last week of Fall I Programming!  We will
pick up Fall II Programs the week of October 20th.
  Sign up begins October 6th.
See you then!

Baby Rhyme Time
We "visited" with some animals this week in Baby Rhyme Time!  We read the books Baby Animal Farm by Karen Blair and Who Says Woof? by John Butler.  If you're comfortable, give your baby a real experience with a friendly pet of a friend or family members!  Remember to be gentle and friendly as well to the owner's pet.

Rhyme: Little Duck
I'm a little duck, a little yellow duck,
And I say "quack, quack, quack."
I'm a little duck, a little yellow duck,
With feathers on my back. (Tickle baby's back)

Rhyme: Milk the Cow (tune: Row, Row, Row, Your Boat)
Milk, milk, milk, the cow ("milk" baby's arms and legs with gentle strokes)
Milkings's what we do.
And when the milking is all done,
The cow says, "Mooooo!" (tickle baby's tummy!)

Wiggles 'N' Giggles (At our Rakow Branch)
We had lots of fun counting this week!  We read the books One Smiling Grandma by Ann Marie Linden and Island Counting 123 by Frane Lessac.  To extend at home, count together whenever you can and make it fun!  Count how many wheels you see, toys, doors, etc.!

Rhyme: I Can Count (tune: Frere Jacques)
I can count,
I can count,
One, two, three,
One, two, three.
I can count higher,
I can count higher,
Four, five, six,
Four, five, six.

Rhyme: Five Little Fingers (tune: Skip to my Lou)
What can I do with five little fingers?
What can I do with five little fingers?
What can I do with five little fingers?
What can I do today?
I can shake my five little fingers.
I can shake my five little fingers.
I can shake my five little fingers.
I can shake them all today.
(I can wave my five little fingers.
I can clap my five little fingers)

Terrific Twos
This week it's all about pumpkins!  We read the books I Like Pumpkins by Jerry Smath and Pumpkin Time by Zoe Hall.  Continue the pumpkin fun at home by reading the traditional rhyme, 5 Little Pumpkins by Iris Van Rynbach.

Action Rhyme:Pumpkin Patch (tune: Mulberry Bush)
Clapping in the pumpkin patch, (clap hands)
Pumpkin patch, pumpkin patch,
Clapping hands in the pumpkin patch,
Early in the morning..
(repeat with stomping, and rolling (roll hands))

Rhyme: Pumpkin Vine
I looked out the window and what did I find?
Green leaves growing on my pumpkin vine.
I looked out the window and what did I find?
Yellow flowers growing on my pumpkin vine.
I looked out the window and what did I find?
Small green pumpkins growing on my pumpkin vine.
I looked out my window and what did I find?
Big orange pumpkins growing on my pumpkin vine.
