Fall III Session
2013
Week 1
Baby Rhyme Time!
This week is all about Teddy Bears!  Some Teddy Bear books to read with your little one are: Corduroy by Freeman and Teddy Bears, Teddy Bears by Ziefert
Here are some songs that we used in our program for you to use at home…
Rhyme: My Bear (With Puppet)
My bear is looking all around.
My bear is sniffing at the ground.
My bear is looking at my toes.
My bear can kiss me on the nose.
My bear can whisper in my ear.
What’s he saying? Can you hear?
My bear can hide behind me,
But wherever I go, my bear can surely find me.

Rhyme: Hug Your Bear (To tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat)
Hug, hug, hug your bear,
Squeeze him very tight.
Hold him high,
Help him fly,
Then hug with all your might.

Parents to extend the Teddy Bear theme, at bedtime try telling your own story using a teddy bear as a prop.  Be silly and expressive to get you and your child into it!

Terrrific Twos!

This week is about Ducks!  Here are some books to read to your little one:
The Chick and the Duckling by Mirra Ginsburg and Come Along Daisy by Jane Simmons

Here are some songs and rhymes we used in our program this week….

Rhyme:  3 little ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck called them “Quack quack quack”
2 little ducks came running back
2 little ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck called them “Quack quack quack”
1 little duck came running back

1 little ducks went out to play
Over the hill and far away
Mother duck called him “Quack quack quack”
No little ducks came running back
So father duck called them “QUACK QUACK QUACK
5 little ducks came running back

Rhyme:  (tune: London Bridge)
Little ducks go quack quack quack
Quack quack quack, quack quack quack
Little ducks go quack quack quack
All day long

Parents, at home try a game of duck concentration.  Using different duck pictures, have your child match up the matching ducks!
