Pre-Reading Activities to Do Together

Visit our early literacy corner for fun
pre-reading activities to do together
in the Gail Borden Public Library
Early Learning Center.
In addition to the many songs and rhymes you can sing together, and the tons of books you can read together, there are also fun and simple pre-reading activities you and your child can do together!  If you've been in the Early Learning Center at the Gail Borden Public Library, then you'll definitely want to visit the early literacy corner!  It's right near the play area by the information desk.

Each month, a new activity is featured and includes all the necessary materials. The activity is designed to focus on one aspect of the Every Child Ready to Read initiative of  reading, writing, playing, talking and singing.  There is always a book involved, so you and your child can discover a new favorite story.  Plus, when you finish the activity, a special prize is awarded to your child for a job well done!

If you are looking for more ideas on early literacy activities to do together, check out this great resource page.

Don't forget, join us for the Fall II Session of programs!  Registration begins on October 17th for Wonderful Ones and Terrific Twos.  There is no registration required for 1, 2, 3 Go! and Story Mix.
